Mid-day Counting Madness!!

Constant attention to call/song counting on three constant effort transects over the last few weeks confirms a continuing big arrival of nocturnals this week, being especially notable on Monday, Tuesday Wednesday. Monday, in one area eight singing Willow Warblers, a calling Redstart and a brief snatch of Wood Warbler song. Tuesday a super massive influx of Willow Warblers with the eight increasing to c35 singers, Redstart gone but Wood Warbler still present, Wednesday (a dowdy day), fewer Willow Warblers, Wood Warbler silent or gone and a Blackcap.....
